Sam we have to be getting close. I sent an e-mail asking for an update. I should have a response tomorrow. The mirror brackets were shipped directly to your address, not to Valley's. That factory still has not given me a tracking number. I have called them again today and I am waiting on a call back. If I get the info tonight before I go to bed I will send it to you. I talked to Spicer on Monday. He told me he had Gall Bladder surgery, and he told me this is what you had and it almost killed you. He mentioned someone else up there who was having the same surgery later this week. I think there must be something in the water up your alls way. Glad I am not drinking it. Glad to know you are doing better. Ken

Hi Sam. I hope you are feeling better and fully recuperated. As I stated on Tuesday the Manufacturer has been reluctant to release the original documents on our shipment because he has not been paid. He position is that he did not cause the damage on the original container, so he should not have to wait on his money. The freight company has paid him for the replacement container. However we still owe the balance on the first container, and he is asking for a deposit on the second one. The containers are in LA just waiting on the paperwork in order to release. I have appealed to the Factory to let me have the paperwork. I will know Friday morning. He told me he would be out of town and would return Friday morning at which time he would give me his decision. I have my fingers crossed, but we might have to pay him. I will let you know. Ken

Sam, I spoke with the factory today. The man is insisting that he be paid for the balance on the original container and receive a 50% deposit on the second before he releases the documents to free up the containers. I will fax an invoice to you tomorrow with instructions on were to send the payment. You will have to wire transfer the payment because I am no longer in the US. Ken

Good Morning Sam. Both containers are in California. I know that they are because the Freight Forwarder sent me an e-mail last week and told me they were there waiting on the documents. I thought I attached that e-mail to one I sent you last week, but maybe I did not. I can resend it if you would like. The factory that made the 900 Franklin Cherry is not my factory. We were not ready to produce when you first gave me the order. Any future orders we will make. So the product was produced by the factory that made the last container you received. I know the quality is good because I went to the factory and inspected the product myself. I have talked to this man until I am blue in the face. He knows that he will not be getting any further orders from me, so I think he is just being a big but hole because of this. He is insistent that he be paid for the first container, and receive the 50% deposit on the second. The freight company has already paid him for the remake on the first container. I will call you tomorrow as you have requested. It will be Sunday evening for you. Ken

We at least need some paper work showing the containers were shipped and are in California. Hey Sam. We tried to fax most of the day yesterday and the machine would not answer. Then last night prior to leaving the office (around 8pm) I tried again myself, still no luck. I attempted to send the wire info to you by e-mail when I got back to my Apartment and the Yahoo server (US Version) was down over here, so I was not able to send an e-mail as well. Bad day all around. Anyway, I will be at the office shortly and we will fax again. I have seen your e-mail that said the machine was out of paper. Ken

Hi Sam. I have not received the payment as of yet. It could be 4-5 business days before it is posted to my account. Of course I am checking each day so that I can get the payment to the factory just as soon as I receive it. Tomorrow I will e-mail a timeline for you so that you will have some idea as to when to expect the containers. Valley's oof days are noted. Ken

Hi Sam. The wire was posted to my account late this afternoon. I have given the girl at the bank the transferf information so that the bank can forward the money to the factory. I will make arrangements tomorrow morning to retrieve the documents from the factory and get them to the Freight Forwarder so that the containers can be released. I will swend a further update tomorrow. Ken

Good Morning Sam. I hope you had a good vacation. I am just getting the documents today. When I went to get them late last week the Factory Manager wanted the balance paid on the second container. I put the money together this week and paid him the balance. Once I get the documents I will send them off to the Freight Forwarder. I will let you know when the containers leave LA. They should leave Tuesday or Wednesday. Sorry for the long delay Sam. I do not understand why this guy took the position he took. I have done business with him for years. I guess because I have my own place now and am not doing anything further with him he is being hard nosed. Ken

Hi Sam. The documents for both containers are in route to the Freight Forwarder there in LA. She should receive them by Wednesday (US Time). Once she gets them she will have the containers released and they will be on their way to Valley Trucking. Expect about a week for their arrival. I will be traveling until Friday. When I return I will check and make sure everything is okay. Ken

Hi Sam and Deb. The containers left LA this past weekend on rail. Takes about one week to reach Charlotte. I have asked the Freight Forwarder to give us some specific time for delivery. I am waiting to hear back. As soon as I hear I will pass this on to you. Ken

Hey Sam. According to the office over here, the containers arrived into Charlotte sometime over the weekend. They are waiting on a customs clearance, which she said she should have on Monday and that the containers would deliver Wednesday or Thursday. If the Customs Clearance comes early enough on Monday she said she might be able to deliver late Tuesday. They will call Valley to make the arrangements once they have the clearance. Ken

Good Morning Sam. Hope all is well there. I checked with the Freight Forwarder today (their office over here) to find out if we had delivered or if delivery had been scheduled. She did not have any information for me but said she would check with their U.S. office when they opened later today (your Thursday). As soon as I hear I will let you know the status. Of course maybe the containers have delivered or will be delivered and you already know this. In any event I will follow up with another e-mail just as soon as I hear from the Forwarder. If I hear something prior to going to bed tonight I will send another e-mail. Take care. Ken

Good Morning Sam. I found out today a tariff is due on the containers. This is not the normal Duties for Mirrors, etc. The factory was recently found to be dumping product and has been penalized with a 198% tariff for violating the anti-dumping regulations on Furniture. Now I know why the factory wanted to be paid in full prior to releasing the documents to me. I have contacted the factory but as of yet have not been able to speak with the Owner. My guess is that I will have to come up with the money to pay this tariff and then fight him in the legal system over here to get my money back. Anyway it will be the first of next week before I can pay this. I am sorry Sam. I know it has taken forever to get this product to you. I tried today to get the forwarder to go ahead and pay the tariff and I or the factory would pay them next week, but they told me it is too much money for them. I will update you just as soon as I have this taken care of. Ken

Hi Sam and Debra. I met with the owner over the weekend. He said he would pay the tariff and make the wire transfer on Monday. I will check with him later today to make sure he has made the transfer as he promised. The containers are in holding in Charlotte. As soon as the tariff payment is received the containers will be released. Sam we will not have this problem occurring on future orders. They will be manufacturered in my factory, not with this guy. Hi Sam. I talk to the Freight Forwarders office over here today (Monday) and she said they should be calling Valley on Monday in the US. She was not sure they had received the payment as of yet, but felt confident they should have it on Monday and they will move the containers. I will check with her again tomorrow to make sure we are moving. Ken
